How Will You Feel

How WILL I feel?
So by now, most of you who started your New Year diets around a week to 10 days ago will be coming to the point where the initial focus and motivation MAY be waining a little.
I am not saying you don’t want to do this, and are not focussed or driven, but possibly the odd little treat or bit of food that isn’t technically on plan, or that you don’t bother allowing for may pass your lips. On day 1 of your diet it would NEVER have happened, but now, possibly!
And if it hasn’t happened yet, IT WILL!
SO, you need realise a big thing here. The issue is not actually eating the item in question, the chances are the calories from it and the impact physiologically it will have is negligible at most, the danger, and it’s a very real one is this…
If you eat it, or drink it, and you KNOW it is not on plan then psychologically you have begun the process of screwing up your neural pathways that were (at the start of your diet) straight as a die, black and white, there was no variation, if it wasn’t on plan, it didn’t go in.
But you have this one little thing, and get away with it, that then leads to another thing, or more things, or bigger quantities of things and before you know it you’re not actually on plan at all today, and then it’s a couple of days, then it becomes a week, then basically you’re not on the plan ever.
That is how the rot sets in, it begins with ONE little thing, passing your lips, that you appear, on the scales to get away with. This one thing won’t kill me etc etc
But in your head, it’s the beginning of the end, especially as for a lot of you as soon as you have had something you shouldn’t have then in your head you’ve blown it, day is ruined, what a loser, FML, etc etc
SO, do this:
When you are tempted, or presented with something you know is not on your plan, and you’re thinking oh f**k it, it won’t kill me, STOP for a second and simply imagine you have already had it and then project yourself forward 60 seconds.
How do you feel?
AMAZING? SO pleased you ate it, it was life changing, thank the lord, damn I needed that, my life is now infinitely better and I feel on top of the world
Or
BOLLOCKS? Why did I do that, it wasn’t even as good as I thought it would be, oh God I wish I had not eaten that now, s**t, bugger, WHY did I do that?
Now only YOU can decide which feelings you want to experience, but if you project yourself forward and it’s the BOLLOCKS series of events, then don’t do it, and what is amazing is the minute you decide to not have it, and I mean THE MINUTE, you will IMMEDIATELY feel 100 times better about yourself than you did while debating whether to eat it in the first place, and the euphoria you are feeling is better than the ‘thing’ would have given you anyway!
Try it, seriously!
